Since 1955, Cole-Parmer has been a leading manufacturer of fluid handling lab essentials and testing measurement equipment. Cole-Parmer products are sold throughout the world through company-owned customer channel outlets and a strong network of international dealers.

Building a Case for Replatforming

The need to build a replatforming strategy was driven by a few factors. First, Cole-Parmer separated from a parent company so they wanted to break away and set a fresh tone and brand for the company. Secondly, they had multiple legacy properties they wanted to combine for a more wholistic experience. Finally, of course Cole-Parmer was focused on their customers and partners and knew they had to build better experiences that were tailored to them.

It took some work to determine the level and the scope of the replatforming project but they built a strong enough case to make a move.

“We hadn’t refreshed our platform in a while, so it just took working with the business, marketing, sales and technology, all the way up to ownership to make sure we were all aligned and moving toward the same common goal,” said Bill Berry.

Selecting InsiteCommerce

When Cole-Parmer set out to find the right technology for their unique requirements they were hunting for a solution that could handle B2B and easily integrate with their existing technologies.

“Picking Insite really came down to their experience with B2B. The platform also had a really good fit with the rest of our technology architecture. We knew we could easily integrate and build a seamless customer experience,” said Bill Berry, VP of IT at Cole-Parmer.
