Over 130 attendees from 66 different companies joined us for our inaugural user conference, Engage on September 10-12, 2018. Attendees had access to 30 powerful sessions, four different user tracks; business, technical, executive and general, and several Insite Software experts and leaders in the B2B eCommerce industry.
We kicked off Engage with a welcome reception on Monday evening. Attendees had the opportunity to network with others in their industry, ERP, or buying group, enjoy beer bucket roundtables, and get acclimated with the venue.
Tuesday morning, Steve Shaffer, Insite’s CEO welcomed everyone to Minneapolis and referenced the “legacy” so many Insite Software customers hold. He asked companies who have been around for more than 50 years to stand up for recognition. It was incredible to see more than half the room standing! As Shaffer upped the ante and asked those who were around for 50, 75 and 100 years to remain standing, Jones Packaging was the final Insite customer on their feet with well over 100 years in business. It was a powerful sight to see so many companies who have been around for decades in the same room, brought together by their digital transformation journey with Insite.
There was a little something for everyone at Engage. John Bruno was the keynote speaker in the general track. His session, Moving From Disrupted to Disruptor illustrated how manufacturers and distributors can keep up with evolving customer expectations and beat competition by becoming easier to do business with. Some key executive topics included fostering successful customer and partner relationships, and building transformational eCommerce teams. Business users gained insights into topics like increasing revenue and efficiencies, and retaining customers. IT professionals were able to sit in on sessions ranging from cloud deployment to SEO strategies.
The rooftop party was the cherry on top of day one. Engage attendees made their way to the Wayman-Partridge building where the beautiful weather, midwestern food, games, music (shout out to Maiden Dixie) and Minnesota craft brews awaited them.
Wednesday marked the final day of Engage 2018. Perhaps most noticeably, we held our first ever Customer Success Awards. Customer success is at the heart of what we do at Insite and we were proud to honor and recognize some of our outstanding customers with awards for innovation, agility, experience and results.
The award for Outstanding Customer Innovation was presented to Consolidated Supply Co. for being highly collaborative and providing constructive ideas to innovate Insite products. Consolidated Supply has been instrumental in pushing Insite to continually innovate and improve our digital commerce solutions.
Next, we recognized Buyers Products for their Outstanding Customer Agility. They have taken a very balanced and pragmatic approach using InsiteCommerce®. In a panel session, Jim Nerone, Chief Information Officer at Buyers Products noted, “From the beginning we’ve said that this isn’t just a project. It’s really transformation.”
Outstanding Customer Experience was awarded to Geriatric Medical for truly understanding their customer needs, delivering seamless experiences and ensuring the company and products remain relevant to their buyer.
Finally, we honored Royal Canin for Outstanding Customer Results. Royal Canin focused on aligning their people, process and systems to deliver results and took an ROI-driven approach when using their platform.
In his send-off, Jon Greene, VP of Customer and Partner Success at Insite Software mentioned a new customer community site that Insite’s customer success team has been working on. Once live, the site will enable Insite customers to interact with each other, exchange ideas, share solutions, give feedback and share product ideas.
