On October 14-16, 2019, we held our second annual user conference, Engage, at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center Hotel. We welcomed over 200 attendees from 88 different companies to our home city for a week of learning and networking dedicated to eCommerce. Attendees had the opportunity to listen to over 30 powerful sessions across three different user tracks geared toward business, technical and executive users of Insite Software products. Along with the sessions, attendees had access to Insite Software experts at the knowledge bar, B2B eCommerce industry experts and numerous opportunities to chat with like-minded peers leveraging InsiteCommerce throughout the conference.

On Monday, we kicked off Engage with our all-new InsiteLearn Bootcamp. This immersive boot camp focused on helping attendees drive more business value out of the InsiteCommerce platform. Our Knowledge and Learning team did an incredible job leading the bootcamp as participants ran through specific real-world eCommerce scenarios and discovered practical solutions within InsiteCommerce. We received an exceptional amount of positive feedback and are proud to announce we will be bringing InsiteLearn Bootcamp back to Engage 2020.

We welcomed other Engage attendees on Monday night at our welcome reception at the Marriott City Center Hotel. The energy was high and attendees networked with others in their industry, ERP and buying group and got acquainted with the venue while indulging in some tasty food and drinks.

On Tuesday our own CEO, Steve Shaffer welcomed attendees and sponsors to Minneapolis by sharing what brings us purpose and meaning in our work.

During his welcome, Steve announced our new strategic partnership with AD (Affiliated Distributors). We are thrilled to be partnering with AD to help independent distributors take their businesses to new heights and compete with national players. This partnership enables independent distributors to leverage AD’s industry-leading enriched product content and Insite’s integrated, best-in-class eCommerce solution. Following Steve’s welcome, Dave Schneider, Vice President/CMO of Red Wing Shoe Company took the stage as our first keynote speaker of the conference. During Dave’s session he highlighted the digital path that the team at Red Wing Shoes embarked on and illustrated what he believes transformation looks like for future generations.
We filled the agenda for this year’s conference with a little something for everyone. Business users learned about how to get more out of their investment with InsiteCommerce and learned how to best build an internal team that could transform their business. Executives learned how to anchor digital initiatives to business value and ROI models to validate their success. Finally, technical users were able to connect with technically-minded people and engineers to discover how to navigate Insite’s native B2B functionality more efficiently.

Brought back by popular demand, and bigger and better than last year, attendees who had additional questions about our products or platform capabilities were able to take those questions to the knowledge bar. Insite product experts answered questions on topics like integration, InsiteCommerce functionality, and Insite’s CMS. Members from the Insite team also presented live demos on InsiteAnalytics, InsiteCommerce Mobile App and InsitePIM.

After a packed day of sessions, attendees and sponsors headed to our afterparty at the Union Rooftop for networking, drinks, appetizers and entertainment by the Riverside Hitmen. Some attendees swarmed the dance floor. 💃🏻🕺🏾
We launched our final day of Engage with an Inspiring keynote by Michael Fanuele, Author of Stop Making Sense: The Art of Inspiring Anybody. Michael broke down the six pillars needed to inspire anyone: ambition, action, atmosphere, attitude, affection and authenticity.
Our customers’ success inspires us and is at the heart of everything we do at Insite. We are proud to have such outstanding customers and wanted to honor and recognize them for their hard work and triumphs. On Wednesday morning, we hosted our second annual Customer Success Awards Ceremony and honored customers with awards for innovation, agility, experience and results.

Outstanding Customer Innovation

The award for Outstanding Customer Innovation was presented to Amerhart who is highly collaborative and continuously provides feedback about the InsiteCommerce platform. You can learn more about Amerhart’s  eCommerce journey here.

Outstanding Customer Agility

Next we congratulated the customer who views eCommerce as a journey, not a project. Who takes a balanced and pragmatic approach to digital transformation, and who continuously plays their game, not someone else’s. The award for Outstanding Customer Agility was awarded to TestEquity. Check out  TestEquity’s success story here.

Outstanding Customer Experience

Our third award of the day went to Steiner Electric for Outstanding Customer Experience. Steiner Electric truly understands their customers’ needs and builds experiences tailored to them. Their site is easy to use and built for seventeen different personas with content catered to each one.

Outstanding Customer Results

Last but not least, our final award of the day went to Hisco for Outstanding Customer Results. Hisco has focused on aligning processes, people and systems to deliver transformational business results. Learn more about Hisco’s journey from Gary Niemand in this video, The Importance of eCommerce.
We were proud to recognize each of these customers for their outstanding eCommerce transformations. They are truly bringing their businesses into the future.
Following the awards ceremony, our VP of Product, Jeff Natzke and VP of Engineering, Tom Frishberg highlighted the Insite Product & Engineering Roadmap outlining what’s to come for the rest of the year and into 2020. The pair covered exciting advancements that are in the works for the InsiteCommerce CMS,  search, analytics and the mobile app. Plus, they highlighted the all-new InsitePIM with a video (and real-life demonstration 😃) that followed the journey of Brad the Nailer.

Throughout the conference we spoke with attendees, sponsors, and fellow Insite employees about their Engage experience and their key takeaways. Here are some of our favorite nuggets:

    • “Insite’s Engage 2019 was the most relevant B2B commerce event in the industry as it connected businesses of a variety of industries and provided a forum for mutual learning, inspiration, recognition, and celebration.”
    • “Doing things digitally doesn’t impair customer relationships, it’s just a different way of interacting with customers.”
    • “Your business experience must be supported by your digital experience.”
    • “All the tracks are very informative. The panel discussions are really enlightening with the experiences and lessons introduced by other Insite users.”
    • “The event emphasized on the single most important catalyst to successful digital transformation in B2B: passionate people working very hard to modernize business operations, to digitize value chains, to solve though challenges, and to create the foundation for organizations to endure and compete in the age of the digitally immersed customer.”
    • “I had a great time connecting with the technical team and seeing the new innovations that are coming from Insite.”
