Managing Inventory During the Picking Process
Have your pickers ever been directed to a bin, only to find that the inventory is no longer there? Or have you ever had two pickers at the same bin, fighting over the last item that they both need? Those instances are things of the past with InsiteShip.
Developed with an internal allocations process to ensure that pickers are never competing for the same inventory, InsiteShip assigns available inventory to orders with the oldest requested ship date first. If the same inventory is needed by two customers on the same day, InsiteShip will honor your unique priority settings to make sure the inventory goes to your most important customer first. Likewise, if two order pickers each have an order with 75 units but there are only 100 units on hand, the picker with the order for the priority customer will be directed to pick the full 75 units. The second picker will be directed to pick 25 units, so no matter who gets to the bin first; your priority customer is assured a complete order. The remaining units from the second pickerís order will be backordered and fulfilled when inventory is replenished.
