When approaching your ecommerce strategy, your organization’s B2B ecommerce maturity matters. I recently read a very interesting article entitled, Evaluating Your B2B Ecommerce Development by Andy Hoar, Analyst at Forrester Research, Inc.

In the article, Hoar analyzes the B2B ecommerce market and proposes that every B2B business with an ecommerce presence today can be categorized into one of four unique categories according to the organization’s ecommerce maturity. These categories are: Greenhorns, Apprentices, Practitioners, and Role Models, where Greenhorns are the most inexperienced ecommerce organizations and Role Models are the most experienced (Source: Forrester Research, Inc. 2012).
